During the day you can build your defenses. Click on empty locations between the walls to add extra barriers, or place turrets on the available mounting spots on the wall. Whenever you are ready you can click the orange next stage button.

As night falls you won't be able to place or remove turrets and walls. However, you can use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to select the defense rings and rotate them with the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys.
